National Joint-stock Insurance Company “Oranta” was founded November, 25, 1921 and to 1993 was called “Ukrgosstrah”.

Company experienced the change of the name (1933) and form of the property (1993 – 1996), now it is the leader at the insurance market of Ukraine.

Many positive overpatchings happened till the end of the first privatization period. Coming of the private investor to the soviet of the stockholder which has brought new modern management and business methods promoted the overpatching of the form of property.

Company carries out expansion at the insurance market using investment capital. Besides strengthening company positions in traditional segments “Oranta” actively introduces new insurance products and programs:

- Compulsory MTPL insurance, complex property insurance and physical person responsibility of the“Megapolis” program, free-will railway insurance and the insurance of the dangerous luggage;

- Credit risk insurance, programs of free-will bank investors insurance – physical person, complex automated insurance of the hypothecation bank property;

- The extension of the free-will medical insurance and traditional specialization - insurance of the agricultural risks and animals, membership in the insurance nuclear pool.

Today “Oranta” is a powerful organization that has the largest agency and representative net (535 representations in all regions of Ukraine) and has more than 9 thousand insurance agents, 663 representations, 28 regional directions and 605 branches, agencies and departments in Ukraine. It provides unique access of the insurance products to the wide social layers. “Oranta” offers more than 50 insurance types that satisfies the demands of nearly all client categories.

“Oranta” is the largest insurance company of Ukraine, has the biggest number of insurance contracts (more than 12 millions).

In 2004 more than 14,5 millions of contracts were signed.

Independent investigations show that “Oranta” is a leader in Ukraine in the sphere of informing the people about commercial label. In the first half of 2005 “Oranta” became the winner of effectiveness rate of commercial labels “Gvardia brendov”.
