Since 2007 – transfer into brand “MTS”.

MTS, earlier UMC (MTS daughter company) is the first mobile operator in Ukraine. First mobile call sounded in the company net in July, 1, 1993. MTS Ukraine occupies 95% of Ukrainian territory where 99% of the population live. Company services more than 19,94% of subscribers. Company has got mobile licenses (standard GSM-900/1800, CDMA-450), stationary and international/trunk communication, also offers the service of the international roaming on the 5 continents. Income was $1,49 billion.

2006 was claimed to be the year of “Radio Net Year” in company. Main investments of MTS (UMC) are directed for rising of the capacities, mobile covering extension, net optimization, innovation service developing and the improvement of the service quality.

MTS (UMC) program of the social responsibility offers the support of the children’s home and hospitals, promotes social integration of invalids and veterans, offers the support of the children and family amateur sport and sport events for invalids. MTS will cooperate with profile university students of the country, will promote the development of Ukrainian book publishing. UMC is a general sponsor of National Olympic Committee of Ukraine and it is the mobile operator of the Olympic team of Ukraine.

In 2005 MTS (UMC) was called one of the best companies in Ukraine (Top 100, Investgazeta), the most effective brand of Ukraine (Gvardija 500, Kontracty), company which inspires (Inspiring companies, Companion) and the best employer of Ukraine (Delovoi Zhurnal). In the International festival-contest “Choice of the Year” UMC was admitted to be “The Mobile Operator-2005 in Ukraine”.

July, 9, 2007 “UMC” company officially announced the transfer to the new brand “MTS”. Big advertisement campaign started which supports launching of the new brand in Ukraine.
