Klitschko, Mormeck given green light for March 3 fight
Jan 27 at 15:33 | ReutersThe fight, which was originally scheduled for last month, was postponed after Klitschko underwent surgery to have a kidney stone removed.
"The WBA/WBO/IBO/IBF world championship fight between Vladimir Klitschko and Jean-Marc Mormeck, first scheduled on Dec. 10, 2011 at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, will eventually be held on March 3, 2012 in the same arena," Mormeck's camp said in a statement.
Both camps had agreed on the date last December but the meeting was pending the international boxing federations' approval, which has been given by the WBA, the WBO, the IBO and the IBF, according to Mormeck's camp.
The 35-year-old Klitschko is looking to clinch his 50th knockout form 60 professional bouts against former cruiserweight world champion Mormeck.
Klitschko's older brother, Vitali, holds the only other major heavyweight belt after defending his WBC title last September against Poland's Tomasz Adamek.
Mormeck has just three fights under his belt at heavyweight level since he lost his WBC and WBA cruiserweight titles to Briton David Haye in 2007.
